Welcome to ISRS 2019

On behalf of the 2019 International Symposium on Remote Sensing (ISRS2019) Organizing Committee and the Chinese Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (CSPRS), we sincerely welcome you all to ISRS2019 that will take place at Howard Civil Service International House, Taipei, Taiwan, from April 17-19th, 2019. This is the second time ISRS to be held in Taiwan in ISRS history. The Organizing Committee and our staff have been working enthusiastically to ensure that you will, as always and like previous ISRS symposia, have an excellent experience in ISRS2019.

In recent years, various disaster events and environmental issues have occurred and emerged worldwide, raising not only public awareness of the situations but also demands for effective solutions. With the powerful data acquisition capacity and analytical capability, remote sensing and spatial information sciences are indispensable for providing viable solutions to address these issues. In addition, the emerging sensing technologies and innovative artificial intelligence (AI) in conjunction with information and communication technology (ICT) have also provide us a great opportunity to tackle with challenges in our fields of interest. To this end, the 2019 International Symposium on Remote Sensing, co-organized by CSPRS, Korean Society of Remote Sensing (KSRS), Remote Sensing Society of Japan (RSSJ), and Center for Space and Remote Sensing Research (CSRSR), National Central University, will be a scientific forum and an effective platform for scholars, students and professionals from Taiwan, Korea, Japan and other countries to exchange and share their experiences and research results as well as to foster future collaborations in remote sensing and spatial information sciences and their applications.

During the years, we have achieved a great success in this symposium series. We are absolutely confident that we will have another wonderful time in ISRS2019. It will be our utmost honor and pleasure to have you here in Taipei. Taipei is not just the political and economic center of Taiwan; Taipei is also a blend of modernity and tradition, a mix of diversified cultures. There are many foods to taste, places to visit, things to do, and always more delights in Taipei. We look forward to seeing you in ISRS2019 and hope all of you will enjoy the fruitful presentations, exhibitions, and discussions in the symposium, and wish you a pleasant stay in Taipei.
